Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors, Inc

Our mission is to decrease the impact of breast cancer through information
and peer support, to help provide resources for uninsured women to have
mammograms, to provide the newly diagnosed with coping skills, and to help
ensure that no woman faces breast cancer alone.

Support Services

 

  • We are a phone call away from support.
  • We go to health fairs and teach women the proper way to do a thorough breast self-exam.
  • We are available to answer questions a woman may have about her diagnosis.
  • We help women cope with their disease.
  • We have free wigs and turbans at the cancer centers in Terre Haute.
  • We make several items that are placed in a pink bag for the surgeons and oncologists to hand out to the surgical patients.
  • We have reliable sites for information on the web about breast cancer.
  • We have a guide for chemotherapy patients.
  • We have information on how to protect the hand and arm after breast cancer surgery.
  • We have suggestions for individual approaches on coping with the disease.
